GAHANNA CREEKSIDE
GAHANNA, OH | SITE PLANNING AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE
POD led the revitalization planning for the Creekside District in Gahanna, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus. In collaboration with MA Design, the team developed a comprehensive vision shaped through an inclusive process with residents, stakeholders, and community leaders.
The plan establishes a clear framework for transformation, centered on four primary objectives: creating a distinct sense of place, strengthening connections to Big Walnut Creek, positioning the district as a regional retail destination, and fostering a vibrant, active downtown environment.
The master plan integrates a dynamic mix of residential, retail, office, and civic uses, while strategically identifying key parcels for acquisition and redevelopment. It outlines a series of catalytic projects designed to elevate both the character and economic vitality of the district.
At build-out, the 240,000-square-foot mixed-use development features a curated blend of amenities, including ground-level retail, flexible office space, and residential lofts, complemented by a network of thoughtfully designed public spaces. These include activated plazas, a signature sunken park, a lagoon with a water wall, interactive water features, and integrated public art. The district is further anchored by the Creekside Event Center, reinforcing its role as a year-round destination for community gathering and cultural activity.
