Sharon A. Floro, RLA, ASLA
Since 1981, Sharon has worked in various design firms involving landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, and graphic disciplines. As a principal and project manager, she has managed and completed design for high-profile public spaces, public school playgrounds, privately-funded organizations, commercial developments, and privately owned properties in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. She values active, ongoing communication with her clients and enjoys seeing design concepts come alive at construction. She was the sole-proprietor of GroundWork Design Cincinnati LLC for 13 years.
Born in the Philippines, she has worked in design offices in Manila, Los Angeles, and Champaign-Urbana before settling in Cincinnati. At Jack Rouse Associates, Sharon’s skills in developing conceptual designs and art media for final presentations were utilized for themed garden parks, conceptual master planning and for interactive exhibits for zoos and museums. For ten summer seasons, Sharon enjoyed working part time at a reputable retail nursery, where she continued to strengthen her understanding of and passion for ornamental and native plants.
