ORANGE TOWNSHIP PARK & GREENWAY MASTER PLAN

ORANGE TOWNSHIP, DELAWARE COUNTY, OH | PARKS MASTER PLANNING

The Orange Township Parks, Trails and Greenways Master Plan was originally completed by POD design in 2003 and was updated in 2008.

The 2003 document recommended an update to guide the development of parks, facilities and programming after the first five years of implementation. In line with the recommendation, Orange Township completed a comprehensive planning and public input process to guide future park and trail development in 2008.

The 2013 update to the Parks, Trails & Greenways Master Plan builds upon the successful approach to previous plans and aimed to guide the continued evolution of Orange Township Parks. It was based on a balanced analysis of community input, national trends and recreational standards. As with previous plans, the POD team placed high priority on the involvement of residents in the process through open houses, focus group sessions, community interest and opinion survey, and social media.

In total 885 citizens were reached for input into the Master Plan process. With the assistance of the Ad Hoc Committee for the Parks, Trails & Greenways Master Plan Update 2013 members, the Orange Township Community Park Board and members of the POD Design planning team the report was provided for consideration to the residents of Orange Township for the development of parks and trails for the following 5-7 years.
